On Christmas Trees

Your mother and I have been married 5 years, but this is the first Christmas where we have decorated and put up a tree. Not that you will remember, but it just seemed sad to have you celebrate your first Christmas without one.

It’s a complicated issue: I hate it when we go out and people stare at you or come over to get a better look. But at the same time when they don’t I’m like ‘HOW CAN THEY NOT NOTICE A BABY THIS PERFECT THEY MUST BE SO SELF ABSORBED’.

On Daddy Day

Dean,
Your mother has dubbed my one day off a week as “Daddy Day”. She dresses you EXTRA cute for our lunch dates and walks around town. That sweater earned you many a compliment.

On routines

Dean,
Every evening when I get home you get a bath. You get washed, dried, and then I get you ready for bed.

Most nights you look like this before you sleep.
